Unless they're giving them away free you're paying too much

This. And it applies to pretty much ALL trucks right now.

I’m sure that are some sort of corporate incentives or rebates for the dealerships, but this really makes MSRP look like a giant scam.

Here is how dealerships work in a nutshell, at the end of the year the dealer gets a percentage of the dealer cost of all cars sold back from the manufacturer (2.5-4%). That percentage, and all the profits from service and parts sales, are where the dealer makes his money. The car sales profits above their cost go towards salaries and overhead for the dealerships day to day activities. This means that, in theory, the dealer could sell every car for “dealer cost” and still turn a profit. Generally though, they won’t sell a car for less that about $250 above their true cost as that $250 will cover the salesman salary and overhead for the sale (manager salary, admin overhead, etc). So yes, MSRP is a joke. Note that the manufacturer kickback and $250 number are based off of what it was when I sold cars for six months right when I got out of college and was waiting on my first security clearance to come through. Those numbers are likely different now.

I had a 09 Ram that I traded in last October. It was a good truck. I drove it for around 9 years and 135k and no major issues.

Why is that? I'm getting ready to trade in my 07 for a 17 or 18, have had zero issues with it.

Had a 94 before that only issue was a cracked dash.

$20k off certainly means it doesn’t come with a pussy magnet.

I am seeing up to 20k off the msrp being advertised online.

Until you get there and they've all been sold BUT they'll let you have the other 2018s for slightly more

Rams are arse. The 2018 is on the same platform as the 2004 model. Chrysler just slaps a new badge, new brand, and some chrome on it and calls it a new model.

This might be the stupidest thing I have ever read on the internet. None of what you said is true.

And also, can people stop calling them Dodge? They split and Ram is an independent division. You really indicate that you actually have no idea what you are talking about when you don't even know the brand name of the vehicle.

Is Dodge still offering that deal where you buy one of their vehicles and the joke's on you?

It's the only deal they offer.

You'll find out that you do not qualify for all those rebates and that the real price for you is much higher. Look at the other Ram dealer sites around the country. They all play the "big rebate" game to get you in the door.

Rams are great trucks, until you got 100k. After that, ditch that piece of shite ASAP.

I like the turning radius, and the acceleration on their v8. But I just got a new 18 Silverado. It's only got a v6, but it's a pretty badass truck. Though I'd recommend the double cab vs the crew cab. I'd rather have the extra 6-12" of bed length instead of the larger backseat. But everyone has different needs.

It's still a Dodge. It's a marketing gimmick.
