I land at SNA in a few hours. Curious to see how much it’s grown since I left yesterday morning.

Good luck.

One of your early photos showed the side of the road, and instead of the weeds we get that grow lushly, you have cactus. Surrounded by soil.

for not allowing strategic logging to prevent these things from spreading out of control.

Classic example of just running with a Trump Twitter. The kind of strategic, thin from below, logging needed to enhance forest health and make residual forests more likely to be resilient in an increasingly greater wildfire environment are not attractive to commercial logging companies. More federal funding to cover the cost of thinnings is required and supported by "environmental wackos" and the timber industry alike.

I can see it over here in Aliso. Some ominous looking shite. From one direction the sky looks like some Daedre opened up an Oblivion-Gate.

LINK
CAL Fire's current map showing fires they are the lead agency for.
And closeup maps on the containment aerial extent and percentage containment. Damned depressing.

this fire is burning to a crisp one off the most beloved hiking spots in Southern California. There are some of the coolest small waterfalls in those vales and hollows. The scenery is great..

This is true and sad. Been there, done that back in '99.

Not sure how I feel on this topic. Fire is a part of that ecosystem. When you suppress it, the risk for these type issues increase. Blaming one guy for a failed system is counter productive.

so it's cool if I start a large fire right outside of your neighborhood?
