That being that we will not be paying for our kids college.
We crunched numbers all day Saturday and it would just eat too much of our retirement. Luckily she is on the same page as me on this: we don't have to sacrifice our future for something adults can obtain on their own. We will do all we can to help with scholarships, trade schools, loans if they want to go down that road, etc.
Maybe we'll come into some money without somebody dying. But then the cost of college would probably just double again.
Any chance this bubble bursts in the next few years and we can change our minds?

Don’t be pissed if your daughter goes into adult entertainment

You should never help if the grades are bad. They need to learn the hard way if they’re gonna arse around
. Pay the loan interest at least,. That’ll help s lot.

Did y'all's parents pay for your college education?
Mine did, and that's why I'm paying for my kids' college.

Well at least she'd be able to pay for college in no time.

It's okay if they have to work to put themselves through school, even if it takes them longer to graduate.
Be there to support them. Guide them. Encourage them. Catch them doing something right and recognize them. The best thing they can do for themselves is to get an education and come out of it without any debt to start their professional career.

If your kid truly cares about school (in La), College is very affordable w/ Tops & Grants.

It's a tough choice: tutors, so little Johnny can get an academic scholarship, or travel ball. He'll always have the memories and the tournament rings.

Are you in Louisiana? If so TOPS might pay for a lot of it.

Your kids getting college degrees debt free should be a higher priority than early retirement.

Both of us were full rides. I lived with mine, though. They will be welcome in our home as long as they are working towards their degree.
