I don’t know why, but I love VW Beetles. I will own one one day, completely restored. This came across my feeds.

I love VW as well.

I have owned a Scirocco, a GTI, a Passat but never a beetle.

Still like the beetle.

Want to own a beetle and a BW bus before I die.

My first new car was a bug. Loved being able to work on everything myself. Enjoyed it for many years.

My neighbor has one buried in crap in her garage… she had it opened the other day and I walked up to look at it.. tags on plates was 1982…
Nice neighbors.. lots of history.. I think it was their daughters when in school and probably has not moved since 1982… she is thinking about moving back to the house ( it has been left vacant for a while)… wish I knew how to work on cars….
I was hoping for the new van but they are only making an electric version.

I've restored a few air-cooled bugs. They are slow AF but that's beyond the point. They are well-made, very cheap to buy, run, and restore, and fairly easy to restore. I only had to burn or heat a few bolts on each car. It is some of the best fun per dollar in cars.

Also if you ever get the bug to restore old Porsches, a 1970 911 is very similar to a 1970 bug with regard to how things are screwed together. You will learn how to restore a 911 if you do a few bugs. Speaking from experience.

This was a similar 1972 to mine. I prefer the late 1960's to early 1970's because the Super Beetle was a nice advance in safety and driveability. Remember the OG Beetle is a 1938 economy car. You don't want too late of a car because the fuel injection is complicated and unreliable compared to a single carb.

My dad was VW fan. He bought his 1st one new in 1961 while stationed in France. There has always been at least one VW in the family since 1961. I have a Fiber Fab 52 MGTD Kit Car on a 69 Beetle chassis that we built in 1981
