I have a 2019 scatpack 49k miles, paid 37.5k for it, for the hell of it I went and checked out vroom, they’re offering 38.5k
this is almost too good to pass up.. only thing is getting back into a vehicle quick is going to be a hassle

Most of our reservoirs are at 18% or lower. We haven't had a typhoon/hurricane in almost 2years and never had our monsoon seasons this year and last year. TSM which is one of the largest producers of semiconductors, relies on the power from the dams. They have tried to cloud seed but it really didnt work and we are currently doing on/off days with water shuts offs

I'm actually about to buy a used car in the next few months, wonder if I should wait ?
My son gets his permit to drive with a parent in December and I'm getting him a small Honda/Nissan or something he can start driving with me to get used to it.
So this is a terrible time to be a buyer in the car market ?

Then what's the incentive to sell at inflated prices if you're also going to get raked over the coals with inflated prices?

Anyone know how to handle a car coming off lease? I always buy, but my 89 year old father has a 2017 Rogue coming off lease in 6 months. It has about 6000 miles on it, and he doesn’t drive anymore. Assume he can do do much better than residual value.

Exactly! The folks selling their house are experiencing the same thing. They see the big profits but then realize that they are going to have to pay a premium to get back in a house as well. If you have an extra property or need to retire bad credit card debt, then it may be worth it. Otherwise, just wait it out. Or buy after the inevitability correction.

If he doesn't drive anymore take it to a dealer and see what they will give for it.
Would save 6 months of payments as well.
No idea what the residual on a Rogue lease would be but with just 6000 miles I would think you may do very well.

Paid $26,300 for certified pre-owned 2017 Toyota Sienna 6 months ago. KBB now says their average sale price is $30,000.

CarMax,
Was this the BR Carmax?
Took a BMW to Carmax in BR and their offer to me was laughable. Sold it myself the following week and got $4000 more than Carmax offered.

Right, so unless you're just dumping off a vehicle you don't need anymore, what's the point?

I sold my 2013 F-150 for $24,500 2 weeks ago. Dealership washed/detailed it, took a few pics and sold it 3 days later for $28,500.
Took my $24,500 and got a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited with 39k miles for $30K. Haven’t found a similar make/model for under $31K since I made the deal. Prices are still rising

Around 19,000 miles when I bought it, and 35,400 when I traded it in.
The Challenger was a 1 owner car and it had a clean Carfax report.

But you still paid an inflated price as well or none of this makes any sense.

I had the Jeep on my ‘Saved Cars’ list on Autotrader for a couple of weeks. It was a good deal at $31, then they reduced it to under $30. It’s on the lower end of prices for the options (alpine Audo, LED lights, Hard Top)
My truck was a maintenance nightmare, and the warranty was fixing to expire, so I took the opportunity and made it someone else’s problem.
