The real question is why a couple of urgent care doctors like Drs. Troy and McNamara decided to have a press conference about Covid.
Who is paying these guys?
I mean we haven't seen the OT experts Stout or CAD703X holding a press conference about opening up America again. How are those Bakersfield douches getting the national attention? Something doesn't add up.

They are using non-random sampling to infer information about a population. That violates very basic statistical assumptions; therefore, any conclusions they make based on that are unfounded.
Also, ~0.1% of the population of the state of New York has been killed by COVID, so if they really came to the conclusion that the actual COVID fatality rate is 0.03% (admittedly, I didn’t make it that far into their stupidity to hear this), they could’ve done some basic arithmetic and checked their work.

He's come to the same conclusion as the Bakersfield doctors.
I should add, primary care physicians are in a good place to make these observations. They see a lot of patients, and patients of all ages and backgrounds. That gives them a better overall picture vs a specialist.
None of this happened.
First, a PCP does not have test kits to give to all patients, much less lab access to get them all processed.
Second, most PCPs are now doing online visits through Zoom, Skype, etc. Ain't no PCP doctor opening his office up to everyone and their brother to come trouncing through to get everyone else sick.
Try harder.

Honest question, is this the same video as the one the guy was referring to the other day?
That had the exact same flaw. It extrapolated the % of positives among sick people showing symptoms to the entire, healthy US population.
The post Bergstrom has about how Urgent Care patients are not a random sample of the population shows exactly what the problem is.
If you use the USC antibody study, the population of infected people if 4x lower than these guys estimate, and that explains the massive difference between their estimates and those from other experts.

Kind of like how people extrapolate what's happening in NYC (or New Orleans) and think the same measures should be applied to the entire country?
