Interesting. Why wouldn't they continue the escort through? Port closer the other direction or potential damage?
I would assume to get it back out to the Red Sea

Wonder if it's a possibility to get a crew of 20 or so earth movers and pull from the other side. Sure, I know there's a lot logistically involved there, but at $10 billion a day, seems worth a shot.

I wonder if they’re gonna try to unload it?

maybe a fuel problem....that canal shaves almost 6000 miles...The ships in line probably don't the fuel for that long of a detour.

Can't they just dig a detour canal around it?

The SMIT Salvage, a legendary Dutch firm, known for the most daring naval salvages, including lifting a sunken Russian nuclear submarine in 2001, and removing fuel from inside the Costa Concordia cruise ship after it ran aground in Italy in 2012 has been called in by the owners of the ship EVER GIVEN to dislodge the ship currently blocking Suez Canal.

Noticing patterns yet?
EVERGREEN nursing home in New York burned to the ground today.
And now a massive cargo ship is blocking the largest cargo lane in the world. The name? EVERGREEN.
Anyone remember Hillary clinton's codename?
The first hospital that had a covid case in the US was Evergreen Hospital in Seattle.
The ship's call sign is "H3RC"

Sure, for next time.
But that doesn't help right now.

All they need to do is get some jet fire pumps, a good crew of divers, excavators, etc.
There has to be a suction dredge or two hanging around that canal.
Dig a big hole in the channel with suction dredge or draglines. ,dig as much flotation area around the bow and stern with excavators.
Then jet wash the rest of the spoil under the bow and stern into the channel..
Pull the bow and stern straight and go about your business.
In 1973 the Israeli’s had what was called the Bar Lev Line. Their main line of defense against the Egyptians. There was a sand berm 60-80 feet high along the bank on the West side. They thought it would take 24-48 hours to breach it.
An Egyptian thought about cutting the berms with water from pumps. They breached 80 places in a few hours.
A group of Coonass’s would have that thing out of there in two days.

Yes but that adds about 4 weeks to the trip.

They are saying the salvage team in in route but they dont expect anything to change at least until Sunday or Monday when the tide is at it's highest
I would think the first thing the try is unloading the ballast water and fuel to get her to float

2 coonasses, 1 Mexican, and 3 rolls of duct tape and this beaut is off sailing in under an hour.

No lie, get a crew of GOM shallow water divers. All they do is jet blast, they would have it out pretty quickly.

possibly removing some of the containers located forward.
This is the one I'm curious about. Will they be able to shore up the... shore... so it can handle the weight of the giant fricking cranes it's going to take to offload those Sea-Cans or are we gonna get to see flocks of Chinooks and Hinds picking them off the deck one at a time?

They'd better be fricking careful doing that. The ballast is there to keep it from capsizing with all that weight high up on deck.
If that thing rolls, this goes straight to a level 5 clusterfrick.
