To me, the thing I can't figure out about the whole General Lee car thing is why nobody seems to realize how garish and ugly the paint job is overall. I said years ago that it's tragic how many beautiful 1969 Chargers have been ruined by misty-eyed Dukes Of Hazzard fans who feel like they have to paint the damn car up to match their childhood memory. Those cars are gorgeous in their original state; stocked out and restored. The flag debate is what it is but for God's sake will somebody PLEASE THINK OF THE MOPARS???

You know what would look good on that bad boy? Some Hazzard County orange.

Your picture looks like a car for a grandma.

The General Lee looks like a car for a badass.

I would actually say the saddest thing is that after the tragic murder of 9 innocent people, getting the flag down is their "big accomplishment".

The saddest thing about the General Lee / flag controversy is that it won't work. You can take our flags, our monuments, and our history, but we're still not going to hire you.

Yeah the politics of the flag and the color brown are completely beside the point. Being a car lover and more specifically a late 60s / early 70s Detroit muscle car lover, it has always pained me to see that big stupid "01" in squared off numbers and those crappy aftermarket wheels ruining the aesthetics of a car that rolled off the lot looking as good as it would ever look. I mean really, who would drive a car around with a big number painted on the side thinking that's an improvement?

Try to imagine the color as being, I don't know... navy blue if that helps.

. . . is that we will not get the opportunity to be randomly surfing the channels and run Jessica Simpson's version of Daisy Duke washing the car.

(She was washing the General Lee wasn't she? I can't say that I noticed what car it was.)
