As someone who was in his " glory days" in the 80s, I'd still prefer the 70s or the 90s over the 80s. The 70s didn't have any rules and the 90s was just a great decade to be an American. And both decades had better music as well .

No Internet
Not tethered to a phone
Better music and variety
Better movies
Threat of being vaporized by commies
We were alive!

I was still young & at LSU while it was still one giant 4 year party. Walk in, puke on floor, crawl out - best of times.

It all started to unravel when Wilson's turned into Service Merchandise.
All downhill since then.
Even the freaking Soviet Union couldn't keep it together.

The 80s were GOAT because we had all the necessary modern amenities but without social media and cell phones. The 80s still had a sense of innocence and you could ride your bike across town and through the woods without worries. Just be home in time for dinner or that arse got beat.

Early 80s would fit here as well. Up til 84 or 85. The world started getting a little uptight after that.

Ronald Reagan
Margeret Thatcher
Sniveling liberal pussyfart snowflakes did not exist en masse, and the few who did were beaten into submission, so normal behavior was actually acceptable.

Yes....80s were great
1. I wasn't running around shooting up and boning Freddie Mercury. No care.
2. I lived in America so the evils of communism rarely ruined my day.
3. Ditto for three. Gang violence in the burbs was not exactly Compton.
4. GTFO.
