The person who owns a bunch of collectible vehicles and lets them rot away in the yard

I am talking about the person that won’t even talk to someone about selling any of the vehicles, or even parts. Meanwhile the cars are slowly sinking into the earth over the years or decades.
People can do what they want with their property. But this happens frequently enough there must be some motivation. Thinks they are going up in value exponentially? Hoarder mentality?
One old dude was like this near where I live. When he kicked off the kids appeared to sell or crush everything in a couple of weeks.

Anxiety thing, possibly separation anxiety. Used to be like that with some old shite that shared a family connection.
Now I drink White Claws.

They have every intention of fixing them up but as they get older they are losing the balance of energy once they get home.
Pisses me off even more to see all those boats going to waste. Same scenario though, sadly..

Those type people pissed me off years ago.
Used to be loads of musclecars laying in the weeds that guys wouldn't even give you the time of day if you wanted to buy them.
In Central WI there was a Yenko Camaro laying in the weeds for years that the guy refused to sell to anyone. One guy rolled up with his 2 car enclosed trailer with his restored Yenko inside and 40K cash and was told to leave.
Did finally sell I guess but about all you were buying was the VIN as there were weeds growing through the floorboards.

I still have my first vehicle, a 1986 Nissan Hardbody. All original minus I got it had it repainted a few years ago. Runs and drives and I still drive it a few times a month.
Parked it at my father in laws house for two months when we were moving out of state. He told me he had at least a person a week stop by to ask if it was for sale; they’d get pissed off when he said no.
People have good intentions thinking they’re “saving” vehicles but it gets extremely aggravating.

two months
A blink of an eye.
Some people leave them sitting for decades.
Another cat drove and parked a great condition 56 Belair into a field and then proceeded to leave it sitting there for 20+ years in the weather. It basically turned into a piece of junk. Just an anecdote.

I know a guy or two and every time I mention even the ugliest one, the answer is “I’m about to get that one done soon.” Many years and yes, rotting in fields. Hoarder mentality I think is correct.

I know of one person that has on one of his properties:
2- old mustangs
1- old Camero
1- older Jeep
1- El Camino
1- Corvette
Plus others, maybe 5 more?
Spoke to him last w/e, said sell some and use the $ to fix some.
No real answer from him. Oh well, they are his.

Persistence can pay off I went by a house once a year to ask about a truck that was sitting out, it took almost 20yrs but finally the owner died and I was able to by it from his son
