Calm down. Election day is in three weeks. Cases will only be slowly increasing by that time. It's not odd that a respiratory virus (cold, flu, covid etc.) will begin to rise around election day as election day is in November. The headline is just a sensational headline to get clicks. The health agency in Singapore does not anticipate hospitals to get stretched as thin as in previous waves.

Which elections besides 2020?
Midterms 2022? I'm not up enough on the rest of the world to assess the impact on their elections. Small sample size, but very significant importance. Whether Covid was created as part of some vast conspiracy is debatable. The fact that it was immediately seized upon as a means to impact the 2020 election is not. We still haven't reversed all the mail in ballot and other voting changes they used Covid for as an excuse in 2020.
