Catholics are the largest sect of christianity.

Catholic Charities is the largest charity in the world. That by it's self, requires a leader. Every large organization has a leader. Your disdain for the Catholic Organization may be credible, but not in this aspect.

It's veiled behind something though. I can give a homeless person a dollar randomly if I feel charitable, but I'm not pushing an agenda to that person that if they don't follow, they are bad. Like I said. It's intent. Charity is awesome. Catholicism and what their real world motive is is to control a group of people. Don't act like giving money away makes them or any religious group cool. That's just what they want.

Oh but hey by the way if you sin you will suffer eternal grief. No pressure. Pass the plate by the way.

Like I said. It's a money grab and they use pressure to forward it. Most of the population is good, and I know most of religious "leaders"it have good intentions. What's more expensive? Public or Catholic school? It's always been about the money. But spend your dollars where you like. I'm just not interested.

You think public school is free?

Didn't say that. But pay your taxes for the opportunity to attend a public school AND your extra $10k a year to "fall in line". Not my money.

You educate your kids how you see fit and I’ll educate my kids how I see fit.

But one day, your kids will be working for my kids.

The price of an education should be measured on the return of the investment.

Cool. You're the typical douche that has that mindset. Nothing more to say.

It's the concept. Be atheist. Be spiritual. Be whatever. But the fact that there is some random person people are supposed to look at as their "leader" is just dumb. Catholicism is just the worst.

1. To Catholics the Pope is a lot more than "some random person," don't be willfully ignorant.

2. Regardless of how dumb you think it is, people looking to the Pope as a leader does not affect you. Have and voice your opinions, but if your goal is to help people "evolve" from religion, you're going about it the entirely wrong way.

people are forced into the political system of government.

people should have a choice to join the political system of religion.

religion can be a great political system to have a life well lived, even though it has no supernatural power that the believers say it does.

of course religion can also be a great political system to control sex, which is where your need to evolve comment probably comes from.

Also agree. Just saying it's all not centered on the purity that y'all boast about. It's a status at the end of the day. Who cares? Why can't we be ourselves and not be forced to pay for that? I am a BR public school person with an MBA. I've done well. And I am not an arrogant a-hole. Not calling you that at all, but the majority is.

And for what? To feel better about themselves. You don't need anyone other than yourself to feel that way.

Just live and let live dude... I’m a non-practicing Catholic and I don’t give a shite about anyone’s religion, or lack of, as long as they don’t try to force it upon others. There’s no reason to attack someone for their faith because it’s their choice and it doesn’t affect you at all.

I don't care what anyone else does either. It's the smug aspect of being a part of something (attached to money) that makes it insufferable. I would love to live in a world where people don't have alternative motives to feel special. Be spiritual. Be religious. I don't care. But it's all rooted in self righteousness. And that's not the point of whatever religion they claim to support. End of the day, it's a status claim. We don't need to congregate to be aware of something bigger than us. And we certainly should not be forced to pay for that concept. That's my issue.
