Maybe that’s why the original jake didn’t get more than two lines.
ETA If they wanted to make their own Flo type character and the original guy was a shitty actor, why not replace him with someone who’s better?

I don't think I'd have a problem with Jake being black if they hadn't taken a good commercial (with the "She's a guy, so..." line) and downgraded it to super unfunny. Does anybody else audibly groan like I do when black Jake starts listing the clothes he's wearing on the phone? It's pathetic.
It doesn't matter what color he is the "new Jake from State Farm" commercials would be eye-rollers if he was Asian, hispanic, albino, whatever.
