I guess they have never been to St. Martinville.

The trip to Joyce's is worth it.

Sounds pretty nice:

Tok (short for Tokyo) was a construction camp and now maintenance camp for the Alaska Highway. Not a lot there but its a nice stop in the
way to Anchorage along the road.. Better than anything on the immediate Yukon side of the highway

Helen lmao

I love Helen but with a full understanding that it shouldn’t be made more than what it is

No...just...no.

Dahlonega and Blue Ridge both blow Helen out of the water and they're in the same area.

I grew up within a stone's throw of Mooresville so I am incredibly biased. It's a quaint little forested antebellum village in the middle of farmland in southern Limestone County.

ETA: Not a damn thing to do there but get married, though.

Bardstown is quaint but it’s also home to the Cornbread Mafia, gangs (in a town of 10k), and multiple unsolved murders over the last few years.

My pick would be Danville. There’s a for sale sign on a big ol rusty tractor and a pale blue water tower with I love Ginny painted in bright green.

For South Carolina the answer is Newberry.

Newberry County resident, like it but gotta be one of the coastal towns

No it doesn't.

Hell, Beaufort is actually pretty bad with crime. I'm surprised it made the list.

I don't see Beaufort as a small town anymore. The growth in Bluffton and the sea islands has made it a crowded place. Last time I was down there it was packed with people.

No. And I grew up there.

I’d go with French Camp.

How in the hell did you grow up in that part of Bama and end up a rabid libertarian?

Raised by chamber of commerce/country club Republicans who unwittingly espoused libertarianism. Growing up a half-hearted Episcopalian instead of a batshit crazy Baptist or Church of Christ probably helped, too.
