Gatlinburg is kinda trashy.

Less so than Pigeon Forge or Sevierville, but definitely tacky.

I'd actually vote Clayton.

Stayed there Memorial Day weekend when the fiance and I rafted Section IV of the Chatooga. Great little town.

Something that you just have to get used to with me - I understate things all the time.

Yeah, I said Blue Ridge, Madison or Newnan. All three are so much better than Helen. Helen is a tourist trap.

If you like Blue Ridge, check out Clayton if you haven't already.

I freaking love the North Fork and Polebridge, but I don't think it's incorporated. They are full on solar powered tho, which is pretty cool! I get m Christmas tree from around here.

Dude. If you go to Longcreek again to raft, make sure it's a weekend. There is a little BBQ place called Brasstown that's open on the weekends that has the absolute best smoked chicken I've ever had in my life. Make sure you get there early, preferably before anyone else, because they shut down when they serve all the food.

Ya, I've heard of it. They better than some of the smaller places in North Alabama?

I normally just smoke my own chicken and make my dad's white sauce when I'm in the mood.

Yes. Hands down, the best rub and most tender chicken I've ever had. Their pulled pork is meh and the brisket is pretty damn good.

That's my only gripe - they don't have white sauce. They have a mustard sauce that (somehow??) is dark and pretty tasty, though.

Spent a little time in Missoula and Red Lodge(?) and had a great time. People were very friendly. Might get a little too cold for me in the winter though.

Having been born and raised in North Alabama, I refuse to put anything on my smoked chicken but white sauce

I honestly think my dad would come back from the grave and smack me on the head if I did.

Man, I've started to make a wing sauce out of Big Bob Gibson's (sue me, I don't want to make it myself) and Crystal's/Frank's hot sauce - the tangy heat on some good smoked wings is heavenly.

Getting back to the thread, I nominate Blowing Rock for NC.
