No one is allowed phones, beepers, tablets, or any other type of connective tech while at the National. And while it is possible for any of us to leave our devices at home, it is one of the few places where everyone must leave their devices home.

For those of us who are older it is like travelling back to earlier times we remember.

No one can reach you.
No internet
No Instagram
No TD
No porn while standing in line
Can't text anyone
Etc

Need to call someone? Walk your arse to the old school hardline phones in the booth at the back of the course.

What is going on outside the course? Who the frick knows. You don't have internet.

Bro this is nothing new. They haven't allowed cell phones since the 30's.

It's been a long time since I've been, but Augusta National has probably the best concession pricing of any major sporting event by an incredibly wide margin.

It really surprises me that so many people can't be away from their phones for a few hours.

Because unlike all other major sports and their venues, Augusta has been and always will be about the actual tournament and the experience. Not the money. Also helps when your members are among the richest in the world.

For $2 beer and $1.50 egg salads, I better reserve a personal port-a-potty the next time I win the damn ticket lottery.

Tax included in those prices... wow!

Also Aspirin and Tylenol listed under "snacks," and without trademark emblems.
