According to The Washington Times, new guidelines posted on the University of North Carolina's employee forum warns readers that inviting a colleague for a round of golf qualifies as a "microagression" because the invitation assumes that "employees have the financial resources/exposure to a fairly expensive and inaccessible sport."

Honestly it is a micro aggression.
I'm like "oh frick now my clients are going to know how pathetic I am at golf"

That's just not true anymore. There are courses EVERYWHERE, and many of them you can get a round in for under $30. A used set of clubs good enough to get the job done is not terribly expensive either. balls are not bad. There are cheap driving ranges all over the place to learn on as well before you eve hit a course. Go chip outside in the back for practice.
I will not accept that golf is all of a sudden some elite sport that only the rich and famous can afford.

Yeah, Howell Park is a perfect example of just how inaccessible golf can be.

So then asking someone to go fishing, hunting, watch a movie, eat out, etc... is micro-aggression because all of those activities involve having to spend money on something...

They do realize that the employee that received said invitation can decline, correct?

Even if that were true, here's an idea: how about those horribly oppressed people just say "Actually, I'm not much of a golfer. How about something else?"
Goodness-fricking-gracious

So when Judge Smails asks Danny to come the Yacht Club for the christening of the Judge's sloop, that was microaggression?
And Lacey was hostile to Noonan?

And you know, inviting a colleague to come participate in a discussion about gender equality at the campus Safe Space Zone is a microagression because it assumes that the person has enough leisure time to do so. And that they have transportation to get there. And that they are comfortable with group social interaction. And that they want to.

I guess the person you are inviting is now going to wonder if you are going to go Macro-Aggression on them by either fitting them with cement loafers or pull a Dick Cheney on them?

By that logic it's a "microaggression" to invite anyone to go do just anything.
Invite someone to go grab a burger? Microaggression because you assume they can afford a burger.
Invite someone to go see a movie?
Microaggression because you just assumed they e got money for a movie ticket.
