The Late for School Dream

Or late for work, missed a final, didn't know you were enrolled, forgot to drop, etc. dream.
I graduated LSU almost 17 years ago. These dreams only stopped about 8-10 years ago.
Today is my 5 year old's first day of kindergarten (side note
for mom). I woke up an hour early from a dream that I was running late getting him to his first day of school.
TELL ME I'M NOT ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE THOSE DREAMS AGAIN.
I know, I know. CSB.
Yes, school's already starting here.
And before you ask,
No pics.
Parents, did you have these dreams for your kids?
I graduated LSU almost 17 years ago. These dreams only stopped about 8-10 years ago.

Prolly just first day jitters for your boy. Now the forgot to drop or never went to class and you show up tword the end and its final time and you forgot to study and wake up in full on panic mode. Those suck

Hopefully so. He's excited, I'm a ball of nerves.
Can't tell you how many times I thought I'd dropped and had to take a mystery final in my dreams.
Oh, forgot about the "wedding was invalid and we have to get married again, with full dress and pomp and circumstance again" dream. Yikes.

I get those dreams a few times a year. I'm back in HS and I have a physics final and I haven't even cracked the book. Sometimes I'm looking for my locker and can't find it. The weird part is in my dream I realize that I'm 50 yrs old and a doctor so I don't need this class. The panic subsides and I wake up sweating.
I've been told by a psychologist friend that it's a fairly common dream for overachievers. It's your subconscious telling you you're not as smart as you think you are.

I've randomly had this weird dream (mostly during college, but I still get it from time to time since I only graduated from LSU a year ago)
It's a mix of being sort of late for a test, but when I get to campus, I somehow completely forget which building my test is in.
Classic M. Night Shyamalan twist, yeah?
As test time is fast approaching, I'm forced to frantically search each building, classroom by classroom until I find which building it's in. It's the same test every time - ME3333 (Thermodynamics). I always wake up right as I grab the doorknob to walk into the correct room, too...that's the most frustrating part

I used to have a dream where I was late for a law school final, but it has been at least two years since I've had one of those dreams.

I don't have this dream but currently I wake up 1-2 times a night and see the last two digits of the clock thinking I'm late for work. I ordinarily get up fairly early (5:15) so the fact that it's dark outside isn't an obvious tipoff to me. Sometimes I've actually jumped out of bed and gotten the shower going before realizing. I even got in my car one time.

I occasionally keep having the dream that I am just 3 credits short of graduating college. That's been 20 years ago. Drives me nuts.

I'm usually dreaming I'm in class and the professor is passing out a midterm or final. I completely forgot to study for it and I did not know the test was today. And I'm freaking out.

I have never had this dream. I feel like I'm missing out on something. Then again I generally don't remember my dreams, so that might have something to do with it.

I often dream that I have to go repeat High School for some reason. I'm 25 and have a job, house, a child, and all that. It's weird... I have the same dream all the time.

Yep. I have the "its almost finals and I realize I have a class that I haven't been to since syllabus day" a couple times a year. They're always far more scary in the dream than it would be in real life.

Holy crap I had that dream 2 days ago. It was the 3rd week of college, and I hadn't been to a few of my classes, not once. Creepy shite. I wake up sweating and panicked, and have to remind myself that I'm done with school.
