I got one that was obvious also running a daycare. I had only given her my first and last name, both are common. After 25 minutes of listening to her tending to children , she came back on and said I’d have to wait 2 more weeks for an answer. I immediately recalled and a guy gave me an answer within 3 minutes, 2 of which he was verifying my identity. First one was obviously scamming the system.

Don't know much about quality control, do you? It's OK, most people don't. Modern NON-GOVERNMENT entities seek six sigma quality control. That's 3.4 defects per million, or about 510 errors per year. With a something formulaic like a tax return, it should be even lower. So yeah, some of the OT geniuses would have a very high probability of reducing the IRS's errors.

I took his post to be about errors by those filing returns.

I know I a girl who works for the IRS. And she's not the sharpest tool in the shed. And she's white. And she is pretty good looking, so maybe her DEI was her looks.

this diversity hire picks up

Snide aside, I tried calling the IRS once, maybe 30 years ago.

Got an experienced, confident-sounding guy on the line.

He refused to give me one bit of definitive guidance that could get him in trouble.

If anything today's young diversity hire is more likely to let slip some helpful information until they teach her better.

A former frat brother worked for the IRS, Dallas office, for 25 yrs .He said that most agents his age were sitting at their desks, twiddling their thumbs, just waiting to retire. He said the biggest problem, the second issue not even close, was that the supervisory level was "infested", his word, with "diverse" agents, Most had just risen to the top simply by sitting there, protected by Federal civil service, from personnel folders full of reprimands & complaints .Last he heard, 75% of the supervisors have never come back to offices after being sent home due to Covid. He didn't say the word "white", he just "we" got tired of doing all the work & any complaints were used as a method to force "us" out.

Waited an our and a half on Monday only to be transferred to someone else and another hour wait. They’re miserable to deal with.

Failing that hire a competent CPA

My CPA worked for the IRS for 30 years. She makes one phone call and problem solved. It’s worth the fee.

Around the same timeframe as WB Davis, I was in grad school. We all had scholarship $ that we were trying to figure out the treatment of. Today, it wouldn't matter because we were all making well under $25k and would pay no taxes. Back then, e'erbody had to pay something, and so did we.

Well, four grad level engineers read the IRS rules and couldn't figure it out, so being the research team lead, I called first. Got a definitive answer that no one liked. Next guy said "F that", and called. Got a definitive answer we all loved, but sounded a bit too good to be true. Two more guys called, and got equally definitive answers that were different from the first two. So we just took the most favorable answer of the four.

Lmao. You aren’t even at the airport all that much.

Travel for work a lot. How you put your money where your mouth is and get a flight to Ukraine to fight with those Nazis you love so much?

be smarter. Trump wants to gut them so you better learn what you need before they won't even be around to call at all.

Have you put your money where your mouth is and paid AbuTheMonkey the money you owe him?

Do you ever consider how wrong and retarded you’ve been the last few years?
