I'll just say this. One group thinks there are more than two genders. One group thinks men can get pregnant. With that said, Non partisan pew research stated that 63% of that same group admitted that they suffer from mental health issues.

Look at all the post regarding PT board, that was why I mentioned the makeup of it. And I said I also responded because of your graphic. I responded to you and others.
Well, next time you have a thought that doesn’t immediately collapse under its own idiocy the second I address it, to the point that you have to disclaim it as a joke, feel free to add it to the thread.

I didn’t claim anything as a joke and nothing I said “collapsed”

100% agree. I have to monitor my consumption as well. I either choose to engage and get drawn in OR in spite of my passion for a particular topic, move on and earnestly, not engage.

Yeah, this wasn’t the internet. It’s always been like this throughout all of history. We maybe weren’t as aware because a small group of people were able to control the narrative.

There's one side doing bad things, and wants us all to believe that they aren't, but instead it's the OTHER side doing the REALLY bad things.

And if you don't believe the 1st side, then you're an 'ist.'.

Is that it?

I don't necessarily disagree, but go browse through reddit and it's just as disheartening

Once it hits social media or even tiger droppings boards, it shouldn’t be considered real.

Most reputable news outlets still provide real news.

most interesting to me is the effect evolutionary biology has on our perceptions of why we do things. Tribal politics have adaptive reasons, but unfortunately, the complicated nature of modern society allows these otherwise selective processes to be misapplied in modern discourse and behavior.

Joe Rogan had a mind control expert on his podcast a few months ago. He talked about an experiment that was first done in the 60s I believe.
A group of about 25 people are in a room. Everyone is in on the experiment but one guy. The group is given 4 multiple choice options to “which line is the longest?” Option C is clearly the longest line.
They begin going around the room. Every single person in the group answers line A is the longest line. When it gets to the guy that isn’t in on it, he can clearly see that line C is the longest line. However, he gives answer A every single time.
This experiment has been conducted many times since and the expert says that it’s almost a 100% guarantee that everyone will answer A. He even said, I know people are listening to this podcast saying they wouldn’t answer A. But he said I promise. They will answer option A every time.

This is the power of tribalism. We don’t even believe our own eyes. We trust the group over everything else. He goes on to explain how this goes back to caveman days and our survival instincts

Each side’s identity now depends on how much it hates the other. I’d like to think people will tire of it, but I doubt it. The divide isn’t merely political, it’s psychological. Every attempt to bridge it only deepens mistrust, because when you believe everyone who disagrees with you is evil, there’s no room left to see anything but malice in those who try to meet you halfway.

What really suffers is the ability to examine likely consequences of actions. If one’s primary confirmation trigger for what is or is not good policy or acceptable action is nothing other than whether the action or idea comes from your own tribe, you lose the ability to accurately evaluate longer term consequences. What is best for America is not always defined as what your people are doing and saying.

I think there is are limits to tribal thinking that still exist. Anecdotal evidence from the PB suggests that some fiercely tribal actors have started to doubt the long term wisdom of some actions of the present administration. The wake up moments are typically expressed in comments that “perhaps we shouldn’t do “x” because when our people are no longer in control, we won’t want “x” being done by the other side.” But it is difficult to tell if this is momentary awareness or true awakening. The tribe usually circles quickly to send the message that waking up is a bad thing.

I guess the shorter and more correct answer to the question of whether this is reversible in the near term is “I don’t know.” But you have identified the greatest educational challenge of our age.

It takes stones to go against the grain.
The Political Board is one of the few places around that doesn't play with censorship. That is another clear problem out there on the interwebs....

And for a long time, one side generally had all the mods.
So, do that Joe Rogan thought experiment in a chat room with biased mods...

It's not just social media though. Newspapers run the same stories off the AP/UPI wire. The same story will have a wildly different headline based on where the audience of the paper is published. Generate outrage, people want to buy your paper or write into the editor. You generate outrage in New Jersey differently than you generate it in Houston or Dallas.

You’ve never been sent a private message by the mods on the PT board? I certainly have. I was basically told to tone it down.

Great post. What is most excellent is this was part of my morning prayer today, hoping that the weak would come to understand the difference in reality vs. the unreal. It takes leaders to offer solutions, while accepting the slings, the arrows, the blue hairs, the masked screamers, and the false words of accusations.

Now in the latest iteration of nega-real,

AI acceptance by the mass of ignorance will only assist and embolden the stupidity of the unreal experience.
