Paging Mother

I seriously doubt Mother ever set foot in Kenner, much less the Holidome.

I suspect Mother's tastes in lodging run a little more towards the Roosevelt, rather than a chain motel populated by people such as myself.

I remember going to the one in Kenner, as a kid, and being absolutely amazed. It was the first indoor pool we had ever seen, much less got to swim in. We didn’t get to stay become we were visiting someone who was staying there. That drive from Chalmette to Kenner seemed like it took forever back then, lol

Had one in Cookeville, TN. Spent 3 days there drinking in the hot tub with some friends while on a work break in 1987. Only problem was having to drive 20 min to the next "wet" county every time we needed more alcohol. But the Holidome was the height of small town luxury.

We have one in Lexington that is now a Clarion Hotel. Back in the late 80s and early 90s you were hot shite if you had your birthday party at the Holidome! Full basketball court, huge pool, and a big arcade! We were kings haha

Houma for sure had a Holidome up until about 5-8 years ago. Hercules had their party the night before thier Tableau every year since the Houma Civic Center opened. I never got to enjoy it as the Holidome but we had a a great time there for them early 2000s Era Hercules parties. We also were there for Y2K party.....
