I remember when it was a movie theater and a Rexall drugstore that sold LSU merchandise. That area was called Tiger Town.

Grandpa told me that 144 W. Chimes also used to be a movie theater. He said you could see where the seats were bolted to the concrete. Later it became a jewelry store. It is next to the old Bayou.
