Steppenwolf was my dad’s favorite band - magic carpet ride was his favorite song

My mom cries everytime she hears Galveston by Glenn Campbell bc it makes her think of her friends that went to Vietnam

I actually don’t care if you believe me or not

It would be pretty damn difficult to be your age or the age of your mother, be a fan of rock music, and not have heard of Neil Young or several of his songs.

I mean, look, I don't give a frick about Neil Young but he is very famous with some very famous songs.

Outside of a couple of songs, you're not missing much. He was stellar in his younger days, just angry in his old age.

Old Man was one of his most well known songs.

Ohio is probably my favorite; and will probably stay on Spotify. He hasn't done anything worth listening to in decades, but he had several in the 1970's

Have your parents ever heard the song Sweet Home Alabama?

Then they've heard of him

I'm thinking that Manilow fans can listen to him without Spotify, I'm sure they still have his crap on 8-track or cassette...

I know the Breakfast Club is the most famous cinematic Barry Manilow reference, but I remember seeing another movie years ago, where a guy got into drive someone else's car and Manilow is playing on the cassette player. He screams "Barry fricking Manilow!" and ejects that tape and throws it out the window.

I can't recall the movie for the life of me, but remember getting a good laugh out of the scene.

Yep, CSB

I imagine people who aren't aware of his name would recognize a few songs.

This isn't really about Rogan anyway. Progs dislike dissent, and have been canceling everyone who disagrees with their orthodoxy.

If you're not with them, they'll come after you.

Quite possibly I got some of his songs confused with bob Dylan

I clicked on the link that Roger provided, and the song sounds vaguely familiar - but I didn’t know the name Neil Young - and my mom doesn’t like that type of music so I can see why she didn’t know

Try this one. If you frequent classic rock stations, you should have heard Ohio a few times

Is this not how a free-market society is suppose to work?

People don't like how a particular company is operating so they stop associating with that company.

Well yeah, but the company in question is basically like the only one that can monetize these people.
