HUNT and LCIW are next to each other. Don't know why evacuate one and not the other.

My step dads father hated Red Cross until the day he died. In WW2 they were handing out coffee to people and refused to give the troops any that were fighting

There will be a need for weeks, maybe months to come. If you can't find a good place to cook right now consider doing it later.

Mayor is blaming the construction of i12 for the flooding in walker. Not sure how that's going to work out for him unless it ends up being a design flaw ala i12 causing the flooding in Robert in 1983.

Years back when Spanish Lake was actually a lake/swamp, I wonder how the flooding would have been different. Remember the two guys from Alligator Bayou Swamp Tours tried to stop the Parishes from draining it?

Would things have been much worse had the swamp not been drained?

Story I heard from a friend was the water trying to flow south from the flood was restricted severely by the new dividing wall of I-12 and water balled up so bad it flooded entire neighborhoods.

Was told they had to knock a hole in the wall to let water flow south and that dropped flood levels tremendously on the south side near Walker.

Just a story I heard, anyone conform?
