Westbound had water yesterday on the down side of 22. The right lane there is the highest lane. You got confirmation or pics?
Here's at 11:15. At 10:45 there was no water on the road.

crew the Red Cross. Cook outside of Lamar Dixon and feed those people.
I have a big pot that I am itching to fire up. I'm trying to organize a couple cooks and do something this weekend. If anyone knows a shelter that needs food please let me know. I don't care if it's to feed first responders or whoever. I just want to give these folks a good meal. It is the very least I can do.

Breaking: If you live in St. Gabriel now is the time to evacuate. The Dept of Corrections just issued an evacuation order for the La. Correctional Institute for Women. Spanish Lake compromise could be reason why.

There a reason they're evacuating Women's correctional facility in Saint Gabriel?

Baton Rouge fire department desperately needs Spray Paint cans as they have run out. Now resorting to using yellow tape to show houses they have checked for bodies in.

It will be interesting to see if there is a Road Home type solution here. Sell it to the state for what they can and move on.
My wife's grandfather died two months before Katrina, her grandmother like all of us had 10 or so feet of water. She did not have flood insurance as the house was paid off. They sold the house to the state, and she moved into one of those retirement centers. She's still going strong today. Pension from her husband is pretty much enough to pay her living expenses including housing, and she's been able to keep the road home money for emergencies.
