Bayou Fountain at Summerwood subdivision, no change since 5pm.
The water level at the cam at I-10 and manchac has not changed
Like I've been saying, bayou fountain is not going to flood if that level doesn't increase by a magnitude of feet. And it hasn't. Everyone is better off staying put tonight then trying to get out in the middle of the night.
Don't buy into the fear mongering when there is no objective evidence that bayou fountain is going to get significantly higher. I would keep an eye on the I-10 at manchac cam. If that doesn't raise significantly (multiple feet) areas affected by bayou fountain will be fine unless the water was already at your door
People don't need to be driving around monitoring roads or trying to flee in the middle of the night. If I10 and manchac doesn't increase, bayou fountain isn't increasing

Thanks for this update. I'm glad to know I made the right call in getting my elderly mother and her pets out of her Robin Trail home early yesterday. The flood map indicated that her end of the street wouldn't have water but I didn't trust it.

Anyone have a link for the traffic cam for I-10 at Bayou Manchac? It's in this thread a million times but it's buried.

Anyone know how the area around Germany RD and Hwy 44 are doing?
Posted on 8/15/16 at 4:53 am to ILeaveAtHalftime
Can't link I'm on a phone. Just Google "dotd traffic camera" and click on the camera at I-10 and bluff Rd.
It's somewhat hard to see, but you can see the reflection off the surface of the water. It's maybe risen a foot to 2 feet since 1pm yesterday. Which is consistent with the slight rise that has affected burbank and Highland curve. Unless that water on the cam goes up multiple feet, everyone effected by bayou fountain will be fine

I'd you can find the posts from around 4pm-6pm last night in this thread that's a general area I think it was posted.
Sorry, I know that's not much help. I'd start around page 290-300. Edit. Nope those page# are way off from the time frame. I will see if I can dig it up.

Some good news.
WBRZ just reported that Amite at Manchac crested at 21.5 at 3:00 am and is currently at 20.

Is the flooding around Joe Sevario coming from there or Henderson?
Posted on 8/15/16 at 5:08 am to grape nutz
Joe sevario is closer to the amite than that cam at I-10. So it's not a good warning sign of what will happen at Joe sevario. I can't speak to that. I was referring to the predicted flooding along bayou fountain.

Not sure. From what I gather talking to the different people throughout the neighborhood is that it is coming from Henderson but can't be sure.
The only flooding I can verify is on Devall between Sevario and Keystone. I can see some emergency vehicles near Sevario but not sure where they are exactly at.
