USCG has now released video of their flood rescue efforts

Anyone have visibility on bayou duplantier? It's the one that connects to LSU lakes and runs on the north side of highland. It connects to Dawson creek.
This is the only way my house is going to get wet.

Outsider here...How much of BR/Central/Ascension/Livingston is under water percentage wise? I don't know the magnitude or scope of the flooding. Thousands of houses under water or what?

Bayou Manchac at I-10 from 1:30 pm today for comparison

Yall in Galvez Acres? 933 was flooding pretty bad by the school, and I know Tlamb went to get a bunch of sandbags

how big of a hit will at&t take from this failure?

sounded like BRPD is closing Pecue between Highland and Siegan due to water on the road
ETA: looking at the map I think it's Highland between Picue and Siegan

A nice safe house in BR should bring premium value.

I wonder how long we will be without service?

Seriously? And here I was worried we wouldn't be able to sell because people would be moving out of BR plummeting the market.

Forgive the stupidity of this question, but how would we know that an area is to be evacuated? Will the National Guard/Police drive-by with sirens and a loud speaker announcing the evacuation?

My guess is they won't. I mean i would be pissed if i were an ATT subscriber, but it is a once in 500 years event. Just for the record though, i have not lost TMO service.

I think the BR market will take a real estate hit (loss) from this.
Posted on 8/14/16 at 4:54 pm to jdd48
not sure about that. I'm sure verizon will point out the fact that at&t lost service while they were up and running.

someone just texted me that it could be a couple of days, but i have no idea if that's reliable or not.

Rough estimate only but suspect from Tx line to Ms line 60k homes conservatively.

I think so. There will be high demand for housing- city's not going away.
Actually more like loss of supply...should keep prices high in short term. A non- flooded BR house is primo. Now if people just pick up and leave permanently it's not sustainable.
