The Great Flood of 2016: Backwater Flooding Occuring (8/14/16)
I think the BR market will take a real estate hit (loss) from this.

Now I don't know who to believe.

My wife and I will be moving in a month so we were just about to put it up on market.

Ugh.

Edit: Oh, I may have misunderstood you.

sounded like BRPD is closing Pecue between Highland and Siegan due to water on the road

You mean Highland and Airline? Pecue is parallel to Seigen.

I was thinking of selling and have been looking. I think I could get top dollar where I'm at after this.

Highway 431 by duckroost has 4+ feet of water and rising.
Not sure how much more is expected but have heard 1-2 ft more.
Never seen this in 20+ years.
Hopefully everyone left and is safe back by lake Martin and gold place.
I have a small boat and can help anyone that is stranded in the St avant area.

that would make sense.

that's the highland road park area. very low lying on the bottom side of the park. that's probably been impassible for hours now, honestly.

I currently at Keystone in Galvez. Lakes are a little higher but still a pretty good ways from the houses. Entry through Devall road is still OK, water rising near that bridge but still a ways to go.

I'll be up all night tonight (working nights) so I'll try and periodically go check the water levels and update.

From what I can tell most people in here should be OK. Would definitely prepare for the worst though. I have my family out and my house sandbagged. I live in the middle and not near a body of water.

Wonder if there will be a need for FEMA trailers? There are a bunch of them on highway 190 between Opelousas and Port Barre.
