This sucks - my wife and I were about to move out of the state to Colorado - she just got a job there. Our house is high and dry but this is probably going to wreck the market.

Supply and demand, you should be able to sale a house that stayed dry in this.

Anyone have visibility on bayou duplantier? It's the one that connects to LSU lakes and runs on the north side of highland. It connects to Dawson creek.

This is the only way my house is going to get wet.

Just heard from my brother in law, they are leaving St Amant. Had water couple blocks from their house this morning, it's now in their garage. Gold Place Subdivision

Are people able to get hotel rooms covered by insurance? I'm thinking of offering my hotel points to FB friends but I'm wondering if people are covered. Is it only those with flood insurance?

Just talked to a friend at Gardner Realtors in New Orleans and people are lined up right now in NOLA area buying/renting housing from Baton Rouge area. She said phones are ringing off the hook as people realize their homes are destroyed and at least temporarily moving to NOLA due to amenities and schools being ready for kids.

So the already inflated New Orleans real estate market is about to get worse? Great.
