Water is still rising around Jones Creek but it's slowed considerably.

My friend said the water level on Hoo Shoo Too at Mallard Crossing has been stagnant for about an hour.

I am in Birmingham but I am going to return to Baton Rouge area to provide flood relief and clean up operations after the threat subsides.

I have emailed the EBR homeland security and emergency preparedness and I'm waiting to hear back for how I can help. If you have any leads please pass them along.

What will determine how long this backwater flooding will last?

I have no training in this, but it seems as though the bulk of the backwater has made its way south to Ascension and Highland. We're still getting some, but it sure is slow. I just hope it ceases soon and starts running back to the Amite.

I'm not blue in that Map, but still water has come up about 1-2 feet since 10:00 AM, garage is under a foot and 6" from the house getting water. All from Bayou Manchac BackFlooding

Sent the wife away, getting the dogs out then probably gonna leave it up to the Good Lord.

And it's not going to stop. In this part doesn't matter whether or not you're in the blue. Those flood elevations are not based on backflow from the Amite.
