Is the Amite gauge at Bayou Manchac out? It hasn't updated since 3:20 am.

any update for the keystone/Gálvez area prairieville?

Water rising near the Glavez middle school last thing I heard. A friend saying that they're getting worried; don't know address but 10 minutes from Fred's.

Anybody have current eyes on Jones creek-S Harreks Ferry area? Just had a message from a friend who was fine yesterday but has water at the doorstep this morning. Roads passable coming from west?

It looks like that one doesn't report very much. It's last update before that was 10:30 last night. Click tabular data, it's easier to follow.

Thanks for the update. Was checking for a friend they are dry now on Duvall rd? Not familiar with the area. Are there any canals/tributaries in that area they should be worried about backwater flooding?

Floodmaps shows the ground elevation of the Outback across the street to be 29 feet. Still in the indicated flood zone, but -- just my opinion -- backflow would have a long way to go to cause trouble that far into EBR.

Just imagine a vascular network. Regardless of Burbank, all of those areas are connected by canals and pipes. Burbank will not function as a dam. Not to mention that water would also be coming up the from the SE from Manchac on the south side of Burbank.

Well I'm gonna have a word with my fricking landlord.. he's a lying POS... told me I will be safe on the back side of burbank

Stupid and trivial question. What happens for the kids whose schools are flooded? Where do they go?

My dad got a foot of water in his house that has never flooded more than a sheen on the floor at most in 35 years, and that was during Gustav.

Your landlord was not lying. He was just ignorant that it could happen like this.

As were you. Can't plan for this

Just evacuated Twelve Oaks off of 42. Water began quickly rising around 5:00 this am. According to some deputies at our neighborhood entrance, pumps were shite off to spare Livingston more devastation at our expense (understandable).

Just wish they would have warned us, barely made it out.

I agree. That pic is Dawson's at I-10. Dawson drains into Ward, which hits Manchac. Since the forecasted crest at Amite @ Manchac is 21.5, that should be the peak backwater flood elevation. So it won't travel that far upstream since Dawson's is at 29 feet at I-10.
