Pounding away here in Pointe Coupee. Yard is flooded, but no danger here, I hope.

He's not wrong. More development = more fast runoff = more flooding. That was a big part of the Northshore disaster last spring.

All roads to my neighborhood are now closed, time to hunker down at the house for a few days I guess

Steady drizzle here in Albany after getting pounded most of the morning. Thankfully water levels are falling a little. I'm sure we'll get hammered again though soon

A lot of the flooding was from the Bogue Falaya though and it's still projected to be quite a bit lower than March.

Today at 11:37 AM, Google reported a 5 minute delay eastbound. Between Exit 166: LA 42; Highland Road and Exit 163: LA 3246; Siegen Lane (near Baton Rouge). The right lane is blocked because of flooding.

Not 100% sure but I think the east bound lane is the one that they are closing. You can see the stacking in the above view.

I suspect this is a localized flash flood, not because of a rising river or anything. Baton Rouge is probably getting 3-4" of rainfall per hour right now.

I-10/I-12 junction looks okay. It will be backed up soon if I-10 near Siegen doesn't drain quickly.

Most of the damaged homes in Covington came from the Tchefuncta FWIW
