I fricking hate this term. Unless you’re playing the lead guitar on tour and got screwed out of playing guitar on the record.

You are a freelancer/contract worker.

I can't imagine getting this worked up over something so insignificant

“Gig” or “career”, both are equally funny when you think about it.

Who really cares. Both groups overlap and they’re all working for their money.

Vertical company structures are going away. Bossless environments, flexable work hours, etc will be the norm. Accept or be left behind.

People do refer to getting jobs as a "gig". It's obviously slang, but I understand why it's labeled as such. It doesn't bother me....

I like it. Gig is so much cooler and more succinct than freelancer or contract worker. What are you some Peter Parker homo with a DSLR camera? An illegal in the parking lot of Home Depot?

You're confidence and lack of care about your own stupidity is an admirable trait

Wouldn't playing on tour be better than just playing on the record?

Touring is where all the money is.

Never, there are too many lazy people that need babysitting while HR is too scared to fire them

Some contract workers are also working within their career field.

Many of those in the medical field, etc.
