Only one confirmed case by my doctor in the Berry. However a few miles south at the Point misquotes carry the west Nile has been confirmed. Time to head to the mountains. Had my shot a few weeks ago. Old age should get the injection.

Picc I stayed out until 4am both Friday and Saturday night and midnight Sunday night. I'm too old for that shite. I still feel like shite and feel like I have the flu if that makes you feel any better.

Caught it last week. Started running fever Thursday evening. Popped theraflu and hit the fluids and I was good to go by Saturday morning. I actually don't mind the flu. It gives me an excuse to lay in bed and watch movies all day. It's the stomach bug that turns me into a little bitch
However I've had a nasty cough for about 3 weeks now that I can't shake for the life of me. It's getting really annoying

You really need to see your doctor if you've had a cough this long.

I didn't understand any of this.

Well shite. I'm in the berry and I was prepared to say I don't contact vulnerable populations.

Wherever the Berry is...there is one confirmed case of the flu (was told to the poster by his doctor)
A few miles south at a place called The Point...there are cases of West Nile Virus confirmed(or at the least...there are mosquitos confirmed to be carrying West Nile)
Time to go to the mountains
He already got his flu shot
Senior citizens should get the flu shot

Most said that they got sick after getting the shot. I'll take my chances.
They didn't get the fkn flu, maybe some minor side effects. I despise people who say this.

I don't work on the adult floors in the hospital...but I had talked with other nurses that did work on those floors. Last year they had several normally healthy adults (30s-40s)with the flu that ended up in the ICU and then DIED....from the flu.
Well this is an attention getter.
Then the thing you said about respiratory virus'.. I am googling right now.

I like to be off the next day so I can just relax and not have to run around in case I'm sore or running a low grade fever from the shot.
What? I've never heard of such nonsense

You've never heard of someone's arm (the arm injected) being slightly sore or running a low grade fever after receiving a vaccine???
Pretty common response. It's not that the shot made you sick. Just your immune system's response to the vaccine.
I work 12 hour shifts overnight at the hospital and sometimes I'm running around and doing heavy lifting throughout my shift. I've gotten various vaccines before (flu, meningitis, tetanus, pertussis, etc, etc) and worked a shift later that night. And hated myself for doing it because I just didn't feel 100% that shift.
ETA: I only work 3 nights a week....so very easy to get the shot when I happen to have off the next day.

No. I've never heard of someone who has taken the flu shot and was not already sick running a fever and being debilitated from the flu shot. Sorry.
I'll ask our onsite Np and the RN GF but I've never heard of it. We have 4500 people onsite and there is a vaccine day. Never heard of any problems.
I'm diagnosing you with laziness.

I never said I was deathly ill from the shot
I'm just saying I've gotten numerous vaccines and I sometimes just didn't feel 100% the next 24 hours. Arm a little sore and couple body aches, nothing serious. Some years I've felt totally ok after the flu shot, some years the soreness, low fever and body aches for a day after.
Again...if you have 4 days off every week, why not get the shot when you don't have to work right after getting it?
From the CDC website...

What are the side effects that could occur?
Soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given
Fever (low grade)
Aches

Why do some people not feel well after getting the flu shot?
The flu shot can cause mild side effects that are sometimes mistaken for flu. For example, people sometimes experience a sore arm where the shot was given. The needle stick may also cause some soreness at the injection site. Rarely, people who get the flu shot have fever, muscle pain, and feelings of discomfort or weakness. If experienced at all, these effects usually last 1-2 days after vaccination and are much less severe than actual flu illness.

Come back when you get the flu next week and we can argue over how important 4 days are.
