I live in Floyd County. This is the old courthouse where people get their car tags and pay property taxes. The current courthouse is directly behind it.

Ironically, my wife (no pics) was down there this morning for jury duty. She was released for the day at lunch and the fire started around 2:00. Guess her jury duty is done for this week.

In my parish the titles only go back to the 1880s. The courthouse burned three times. When somebody got behind on taxes or had a land dispute, arson was the go to remedy.
