This is how these police chases were handled back then. You may get through one, possibly two, roadblocks, but the third was going to be a hail of gunfire. The last one of this I remember was in the 80's when some guy in a Trans Am was killed on Florida Boulevard in BR after evading police through several parishes.

This could be taken as more hard evidence that people who shut down public roadways drag racing/drifting are morons- thus making them more likely to die stupidly.
