lump, since taxes are the same either way.

Lump. I wouldn't trust the lottery to not go bankrupt, and I don't trust the democrats to not raise taxes.

If you are money smart, lump. If you are one of these people that have no idea about money and will likely be broke if you won the lottery, installment plan.

No they aren't.
With lump sum everything over 466,950 for a married couple is taxed at 39.6%. Everything. At one time.
If you do it yearly you get the 10% through 35% tax brackets again until you go over 466,950 every year.

Lump sum. Invest the shite out of it so your family is taken care of for generations.

If the lottery is for 300 million, if you take the lump you get about 180 million and then 40% of that it taken in taxes.
With the installments you would, over 20 years, get the 300 million less the income taxes.
Most of the idiots who win the powerball should do the installments. They are usually genetically incapable of dealing with that sudden wealth and end up in the shitter again after ten years.

lump sum and after taxes i'd take like 75% and put it into some sort of index fund to get a conservative return and a fat arse annual salary for life

Payment.
Lump sum is mathematically smarter, but 99.9 percent of human beings can't handle it

Lump sum. I would live off the interest I make every year. Just 3% interest per year and you get 6.5 million assuming you get about 215 million after taxes. If you can't live off of 6.5 million a year you are an idiot.
