Why would people from wealthy areas pass boatloads of stores to drive to Kenner and shop?

People don't go to Kenner unless they live there.

When I was growing up in the 90's the Esplanade put Lakeside to shame. Now it is Vice Versa.

Yeah I used to much prefer Esplanade. Easier parking, less congestion, and more pleasant. I still like Stingrays

Do they still have the store that sold caskets. Very weird to sell that kind of shite in a mall.

Do they still have that store that sells coffins?

Did they get new owners post Katrina or did they get a big insurance check because, like others in the thread, I remember not too long ago it seemed like that place was falling apart and now it's really bounced back.

Even they moved to Metaire. They are in the little building next to the Clearview mall. The one that used to be the mattress store and previously the bike shop.

I'm trying to figure out WTF Macys and Target were thinking by opening up in the Esplanade? The Macy's was destroyed by Katrina and instead of calling it quits they rebuilt there. And why oh why did Target think it was a good idea to build a store in a dying ghetto mall?

The only problem with Lakeside is no more room to expand. I predict they'll start tearing down property in Fat City to expand to with a pedestrian bridge or some sort of outdoor mall type thing like Firewheel in Garland outside of Dallas. I think this was Lee-Sheng's real motive behind that 11pm bar law that basically shut down Fat City.

I remember shopping there in 1998. I was working down there at the time. I thought it was nice. Craziest stuff happens in 16 years doesn't it?
