He "is" an alcoholic and drug addict. Has been since he was 12 years old. He continues to abuse alcohol and drugs, despite decades of therapy and rehab.

His not even remembering punching and kicking her because he was so wasted is definitely relevant to yhe trial.
And not once had any allegations of domestic physical abuse or sexual abuse from ALL the other girls that he had been with since 12 years old.
Typically, there is a domino effect when a guilty person is accused, other victims would come forward (see Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Kevin Spacey, etc...)
Yet, with Depp before and after Amber's allegations of physical and sexual abuse... ZERO.
SO... if you are implying that drugs and alcohol abuse was a catalyst to 'punching and kicking' and he is an alcoholic and drug addict since 12 years old... where are all the other victims?

Earlier in this thread it was discussed whether or not she could avoid paying him if she filed for bankruptcy. Looks she can’t with the malice factor. She put the screws to him for six years. He should return the favor.

"For an individual who doesn't have the ability to pay the judgment and no ability to post the bond, then there is a real issue if the winning party intends to execute the judgment," Spurgeon told CBS MoneyWatch.
quote:
Heard also has the option of filing for bankruptcy, but she might not be able to discharge the $10.35 million debt through insolvency, Pastor noted.
That's because of a part of bankruptcy law that carves out debts stemming from "willful and malicious injury by the debtor" to another party. "The jury form said 'defamation with malice' — you can't do anything with malice unless you have the intent," Pastor noted. "It's my opinion that it's highly likely that would apply."
However, Depp would need to raise an objection to her attempt to expunge the debt through bankruptcy, citing this portion of law, Pastor noted. It's possible he could decide against objecting in such a situation.

Depp admitted to his faults that he is/was an alcoholic and drug addict..
Which was necessary. I suspect he lied or fudged the truth when it came to some specific answers about how much MDMA he has used or used on the wedding day. But he was generally honest about his actions and faults. Conversely Amber got on the stand and straight up lied time about everything from being injured, to raped with a bottle, to hitting him, and calling TMZ.
Depp isn't an innately likable guy to many people. People also have a strong bias towards women when it comes to accusations of violence by men. But over and over again Amber destroyed her own credibility on the stand and ruined her case.
If she had just been honest about some obvious things like calling TMZ her credibility with the jury would have significantly improved.

Crazy Dr. Spiegel who testified on Amber's behalf wrote a letter for Newsweek claiming that online attacks gave him an "emotional concussion".

During my career, I have dealt with people who are not guilty of murder by reason of insanity and I've dealt with people who are psychotic and have threatened to kill me, and it has never fazed me one iota, but this did. You start realizing that it really just takes one person who is not seeing things right.

This dude was gold... Unfortunately for the wrong team, his bias and unhinged psychoanalysis actually benefited Depp's case.
There's speculation out there that AH's team consulted the wrong David Spiegal...
This David Spiegal appeared to be more qualified than the loon that they put on the stand....
quote:
Dr. David Spiegel is Willson Professor and Associate Chair of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Director of the Center on Stress and Health, and Medical Director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he has been a member of the academic faculty since 1975, and was Chair of the Stanford University Faculty Senate from 2010-2011. Dr. Spiegel has more than 40 years of clinical and research experience studying psycho-oncology, stress and health, pain control, psychoneuroendocrinology, sleep, hypnosis, and conducting randomized clinical trials involving psychotherapy for cancer patients. He has published thirteen books, 404 scientific journal articles, and 170 book chapters on hypnosis, psychosocial oncology, stress physiology, trauma, and psychotherapy. His research has been supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute on Aging, the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Fetzer Institute, the Dana Foundation for Brain Sciences, and the Nathan S. Cummings Foundation. He was a member of the work groups on stressor and trauma-related disorders for the DSM-IV and DSM-5 editions of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. He is Past President of the American College of Psychiatrists and the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, and is a Member of the National Academy of Medicine. He was invited to speak on hypnosis at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018.
Unfortunately, I think idiotic people that searched for David Spiegal were also confused and bombed his patient rating...

Spiegel was a narcissistic, egomaniacal nut job who thought he was better than everyone else in the courtroom and couldn’t stand the fact that JD’s attorneys were questioning his opinions.

Sorry... it was meant that it was unfortunate for Amber's team that consulted him, but he was gold for Depp's team.

A juror has spoken. They flat out did not believe Heard.
Crocodile Tears
The "pledge/donation" was a big deal to the jury.
I saw somewhere were she claimed she will still donate the money, but if she's going to really do it, then why not do it?

According to the unnamed man, there was another smoking gun – the revelation that Heard had not donated her $7 million divorce settlement to charity as she had previously pledged.
"She goes on a talk show in the U.K. The video shows her sitting there telling the host that she gave all that money away, and the terms she used in that video clip were, 'I gave it away,' 'I donated it,' 'It's gone,' but the fact is she didn't give much of it away at all," the juror said, summing up the situation as "a fiasco" for Heard.

I'll be shocked if she ever actually donates it.

That's because Narcissists are incredibly arrogant.
She thought these people were rubes with no real-life experience and her B-list acting skills would work on them the way it did on the autists of Reddit and the sycophants in her inner-circle.

Only if Elon Musk feels like donating more for her...
