Normally I dont, but this is family that's repetitively going to the same spot over and over and throwing pictures up on social media every time as if it's something new they get to experience when it's the same damned thing they posted over Mardi Gras.

Been once and hated the place, sent the wife and kids a few times and will be sending her as often as possible withe grandkids just so I can get some peace and quiet for a week at a time.

People that spend too much money and the majority of their time in lines are poor planners, plain and simple. It’s relatively easy to have a very enjoyable time at sensible expense with even just a little sense. Vehement opposers of Disney World crack me up, typical bro so hards. Like you can’t find one smidge of something to like in all those parks/resorts.

I much like the nostalgia of it all, not just because I grew up on Disney movies, but also reminiscing on past trips and seeing things change - or not change - through the years.

You guys all need to get laid.

Well, I've been once. Probably never again. But its the closest I'll ever be to "flying in space", to Dinosaurs etc. It stokes a child's imagination beyond anything most people will ever experience (that's good).

The Cult of Disney World

Disney long ago went beyond mere cult status and is a bona fide religion for tens of millions.

I will lose a fingers before I ever go back. The people are awful. The prices are absurd. The lines are arse.
Like others have said, if you are waiting in a line for more than 30 minutes you’re doing it wrong.

I haven’t waited in a line for over 30 minutes in a decade, and that’s going 1-2 times a year.

Unless you try and go around Christmas lines are not an issue if you know how to use fast pass. That’s the one time of year I won’t go due to the crowds.

Here’s just a few that come to mind:

1- Plan in advance. The nice part about this one is you don’t have to do any of it, let your wife do it. Have all your fastpasses and dining reservations booked ahead.

2- Don’t book fastpasses early in the morning, lines don’t really get long until right before lunch time, say 10:30-11:00.

3- Don’t fight the crowds. Leave the park right after lunch, go back to the resort and sit by the pool or do any other activities they have going on, or just rest. Or go to Disney Springs. Go back late afternoon, between 4-6.

4- Don’t try to do everything, you won’t be able to. I see way to many people who take 30K steps a day because they’re jumping all over the park trying to get things done. It’s ok to just relax and people watch for a bit.

5- Get a disability pass if you can. You essentially get a fast pass for every attraction.

Okay, Karen. We get that you plan out your "vacation" months in advance and stress out everyone around you. frick me if I ever go on a vacation that has a damned itenerary aside from "meet up at X restaurant for dinner".

LIKE OKAY EVERYONE SHOULD BE OFF THE BUS AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM BY 5AM, PICTURES WITH MICKEY AT 515, BATHROOMS AT 530, LINE FOR SPACE MOUNTAIN AT 545, RIDE SPACE MOUNTAIN AT 8AM, WOOOO AT 815, NEXT LINE AT 830, NEXT RIDE AT NOON, LUNCH AT 1215, BATHROOMS AGAIN AT 1230, YOU HAVE BEEN BUDGETED 30 MINUTES FOR WALKING INBETWEEN ALL OF THIS SO YOU HAVE TO HURRY!

What a joke.

If I wanted to go to Disney I could go tomorrow, cost isn't the issue at all. The thread is about those who are barely floating but feel the need to go to this place repetitively to project themselves on social media.

You know, the closest thing to Disney World I've ever been to was probably the 1984 World's Fair. Correct me if I'm completely wrong in that comparison.

I thought that was really cool, but part of the appeal was being able to just sort of wander around and discover shite. Another part of the appeal, or of the mystique at least, was that it disappeared so suddenly.

I think this is a major point people are ignoring for some reason

A Disney trip for the kids's childhood? Awesome.

Once per year? Strange. Very strange

Multiple times a year?

I have a friend whose wedding was disney themed. I mean cake, decorations, etc....there is an entire basement dedicated to Disney.

This. I like to go about once every ten or so years. Went when my kids were little. Went when my kids were early 20s. About to go in a few months with my nieces and nephews. Won't go again until grandkids.

But we also go to national parks, mountains, and everything in between. I am a huge fan of one or two week long vacations a year with lots of weekends at the camp or beach or anywhere in driving/quick flight distance.

It doesn’t work that way, not even close.

You had best be on time for your dinner reservations, but that’s par for the course at any good restaurant on the planet.

Pick a park, any park and me or any of the other Disney pros will give you the rides you want to fast pass, some you will probably want to skip or do another day. Places to eat inside the parks (I highly recommend Sci-Fi theater and Le’cellier”). And how to approach the transportation system.
