Not only that, DC is smack dab in the middle of liberal utopian hell. Couple that with the violent, petulant children the left had on hand destroying the city and threatening people just for having different political beliefs, it's understandable that there was a lower turnout.

Who's to say that the two photos were taken at the same point in the Inauguration? For all we know, the Trump one could have been taken after it was over and people were leaving or before it started.
Also, as someone said. You have the first black President (increases the historical factor), in a majority Democratic city, with a large African-American population. It really wouldn't be surprising for more people to be at Obama's.
Lastly, why does it really matter? Attendance at the Inauguration doesn't have any impact on his ability to do the job.
