How much is fair to charge someone to use their parking lot/garage? Some places are getting WAY overpriced. Cedar Point amusement park (near me) costs $20 to use their own parking lot. Ridiculous! Not only do they charge an crazy amount for tickets, they want you to pay $20 to use a lot they hardly ever seal. I can understand lots near sporting events charging you $, but a place that you are giving 100s to already shouldn't charge you more than $5 to park

If it keeps filling up they'll keep raising the price comrade.

Do you think they can really go any higher than $20?

They get to charge you whatever they want , that’s one of the reasons why Darryl Berger is one of the richest people in Louisiana.

The question is what price makes people stop going?

Parking is a great investment, the tipping point for someone not to pay is pretty high (espicially during special events) compared to the overhead for running/maintaining a lot.

I guess you've never parked at a hotel in a major city area.

Cedar Point is one of the biggest amusement parks in the country. You should be glad that it is only $20.

ETA: it is the same at sporting events where people complain how much a beer cost. "Well how many did you get if the price was so high?" "Uhhh, like 5 or 6, but they are overpriced." lol
