The progressives objective is to permeate into every sector of society. Nothing is safe. It's only going to get worse with sports. The whole sit back and not give a shite attitude only works until they attack something you hold dear to yourself. This Brees fiasco is a PERFECT example.

Never show weakness to your assailant.
Brees should understand this completely. He's been studying opponent weaknesses as a way to win and gain advantage most of his life.
Not one iota of compassion for him for failing at reading the opponent.

This goes back to the Victim thread yesterday. It was implied only Dems play the victim card. That's just not the way it works.
Identity politics doesn't have a party. Identity is based upon what you do in almost all cases. With Brees, he's a leader and diversity dictates his actions whether he believes what he says or does or not. Same with an Exxon CEO. You can't be an overt environmentalist. If you're the CEO of Mossberg, you can't say Meat Is Murder. If you're an OBGYN, you can't flaunt My Body My Choice.
Politically, you choose your side as a means to an end.

Remember when they used to say "It doesn't affect you!" To people who opposed their agenda?

Counter Culture is alive and thriving

Funny how personal responsibility seems to be a one way street too.

I think these people are bigots of the highest order of bigotry.
Shaming people and publicly castigating them simply for holding another belief that is not even remotely racial by any stretch, but simply because it differs from their own is the height of bigotry and extremely intolerant of anyone who dares to call themself an American. It is revolting, it is unAmerican, and it is what a people who are driven more by the direction the collective is going than a critically thinking people. They are more incensed because you deviate from the Borg than anything else, and that should scare the hell out of anyone that this has taken root in America of all places. NO thought is put into this, just blind adherence, and that’s why their arguments are so shallow and weak. This is a really scary happening in America, and one that stands in complete opposition to freedom of speech, or hell, the very tolerance the left has long said that they represent, which of course, they clearly DO NOT adhere to.

Maybe the problem is he should not have been so tone deaf.
What you perceive him to be is your business. What he feels and says is his business and his right. Stop assuming everyone should see everything like you see it and if they don't they're tone deaf, dog whistling, virtue signaling, etc.
