Every now and then I pay attention to them and it’s like I’ve never felt them there before.

That’s your boyfriend, and he spells his name ‘Tory’

I think you’re thinking of “bird” in Japanese

They are called tori (multiple) or torus (singular). Some people have them, some don't. Some of them can be HUGE and need to be removed because they are so large they interfere with tongue space, chewing, and talking. I have small ones on the floor of my mouth and a small one in the center of my hard palate.

I had no idea this existed. Weird.

Tori can compromise your breathing and cause apnea.
Personally, I never took snoring seriously. It was just one or those things, but as I got older, I actually looked into it.
It can cause serious health issues.

I have no idea what you are talking about

It may be from poor oral posture, like mouth breathing, and not keeping your tongue at the roof of the mouth.
Poor oral posture can really change your bone structure. That and a soft foot diet.

I never knew either until dental hygiene school and we had to do exams on each other and I was told I had them. Mine are so small that I can't really feel them with my tongue, but I can if I rub the sites with my finger. My best friend has them, though, and they are so large that I can see them when she talks and sometimes, it even sounds like she has marbles in her mouth while she is talking because they take up room where her tongue should go.

You have 11 posts in 11 years and chose to discuss this topic with your one post of 2020. Interesting. Anyhow, see you next year.

I have buccal mandibular tori on both sides. Every time a dentist exams me he says he’s never seen them that big but apparently they formed because I have a strong bite.
They don’t bother me so no need to remove them.
