re: The black community's refusal to address this story invalidates their Sterling outrage

it sort of ups the ante of what the black community is embracing. So sorry if I disagree with you there.
I keep hearing about this black community but I never got the memo!
Once again, I can speak for myself. David Duke held political office in Louisiana and was almost governor. Can we then agree that by your logic he speaks for the white community?

So you think a rapist won't do it again given the opportunity?
It's not a race issue with me.

The majority don't care. Just like the monuments in new Orleans.
Did that stop the murder in st roch this morning? Nope, the majority doesn't care, never have and never will.

But at least try and understand the issue.
With very few exceptions, some moron doesn't do what the police tells them after they commit a crime, then cry racism because that's their go to excuse.
That's the issue. And most people understand it.

The argument for many here, is that white people are being put in cop cars while blacks are put in body bags.
Of course the stats don't add up, but there is fear and anger in their community.
Meh, I've never had an issue with police in the slightest. I think it's just easier to identify with a victim group and point the finger.

Yep. My black business partners don't give two sh!ts about this.
Not unlike how I don't give a damn about white trash idiots at Walmart.
It's about class, not race.

This one seems pretty wide open. I'm putting money down on Patch for shits and giggles. There's been a lot of good talk about Classic Empire though. Gotta keep an eye on the weather as well.

It's not about the Alton Sterlings or Michael Browns. There is this feeling that police have itchy trigger fingers when confronting black people. The argument for many here, is that white people are being put in cop cars while blacks are put in body bags. Of course the stats don't add up, but there is fear and anger in their community. That's what this is all about, but the media and powerful interest groups have let the whole thing jump the shark.
That feeling you refer to is a victim card played up by a bunch of special interest. There is money and power in fear. Lots of it.

How about we start by no longer grouping all blacks together as if we have some hive mentality.

people choose to raise up the ignorant individuals who bark the loudest and decide to allow them to speak for the whole.
You answered your own question.

What exactly is this suppose to prove besides my point?
I can google pictures of black people minding their own business...
I can google pictures of white groups marching and protesting...
I can google pictures of white people minding their own business.
What are you trying to prove besides the fact that approximately 20 black people and a white guy? all speak for the entire black race or at the very least the majority?
This is the type of ignorance I am talking about. If I posted pictures of a klan rally I would be downvoted and people would exclaim the klan is a joke or that group is a joke. However, when I point out the same thing on the opposite side, people choose to see it differently.

There's nothing to "prove" but there is something to be seen if you're willing to look and listen.
What we (whites) see when something like an Alton Sterling or Michael Brown happen is uniformity of thought coming from the black community plastered on every channel and on every newspaper's front page. There are differences of thought but either those differences are so few or those that differ are so silent as to not receive (much less demand) notice.
We see the outside agitators come in and burn your businesses and loot. We don't see you standing outside your businesses armed and fighting them off.
We see the anguish and cries of "no justice, no peace" before all the facts are known, but if those facts come out and they prove your stance to be in err we not only don't see an acknowledgement of justice being done, we see either more laments of how justice has failed or an immediate silence.
There are other voices in the black community, I hear them in one-on-one conversations and on the rare black conservative radio shows. Where they aren't heard (or at least heard nearly enough) though is in the heat of troubles, calling for calm and holding troublemakers from within their own ranks accountable. They aren't seen protesting outside of known crack dens or outside the home of some young black man that's killed another young black man.
Where was Mayor Broome this week calling for out of town agitators to stay out? Where were any leaders from the black community calling press conferences to say that?
That's where the hive mind mentality meme comes from and why it will continue to be there, at least until enough blacks that don't ascribe to it start making themselves seen and heard.

Bro settle down, if we want your opinion we will ask for it. Until then just stick to posting your personal cry baby problems in the 50 other threads

If you say so. You are ignoring my points and holding on to your tired reasoning.
Let me ask you a question and I would like an honest answer. Why do I have to say anything? Why would you expect any black person to have to say anything?
In my opinion it is only the individuals who are intellectually weak who are unable to use true discernment. Over 99% of our city is going on with their day, but because you click on Facebook and see a post that upsets you, then that person must speak for all.
I also noticed that you ignored my David Duke question. Since he is a white politician I and a person in the news, does he represent your views? The views of all whites? If you disagree with his opinions and words would you like to apologize to me and all blacks?
Now, we both know that won't happen, nor would any reasonable person have these expectations. Shouldn't that standard apply both ways? I could keep going but I will stop now. Either you get it or you don't. If you want to continue this conversation leave me an email and we can correspond if you like.
ETA: I'm sure we could find some real gems on political talk shows that are more white I suppose...
I'd be willing to bet we share many of the same values.

David Duke's gubernatorial run came up in a conversation with some friends a couple of weeks ago. Most were of the opinion that Duke got crushed and "nobody" voted for him. So I looked it up:
Something a bit over 670,000 votes that constituted 38.8% of the vote. I'm guessing those were mostly white people. And they weren't all Edwards protest votes either.
There is no doubt in my mind that Alton Sterling was a piece of shite and, aside from some immediate family members and very close friends, the planet isn't going to miss him one bit. I don't know proper police procedure, but it isn't like these two cops rolled up and starting shooting. I've seen a couple of the videos - the audio is terrible. The one cop who tried to take Sterling down initially - hit him at the waist and drove him into the hood of the car - may have been over-aggressive. But past that, the guy should have complied (Actually, he should have complied from the get go. He'd probably be back in prison, but he'd be alive). The cop has a pistol against Sterling's chest and said several times things like "I will shoot you.", "Don't make me shoot you." How can anyone be surprised he got shot? For the life of me, I don't understand how anyone can defend his actions.

Ignoring trash like Trudy White and allowing her to run unchecked by the black community is not helping their cause. They want accountability? They better start demanding some within their own people.

I've never had an issue with police in the slightest
My point is that just because you have never been jacked up by the police for walking while black doesn't mean it isn't a thing.
