Some of you are trying so hard to hate on the Bible and Christianity it's pathetic. Y'all need Jesus.

The fact is that humans used to live to be over 900 years old. My theory is the cause of it declining so sharply, which is a change in diet due to the flood - notably dinosaur meat and possibly various fruits and vegetables.

I'm going to pray for you. I know you think it's cute to mock people and what they believe.

What you are doing is a very poor lucasP impersonation. He's funny with it and usually gets a point across in the process.

Some literary critics explain these extreme ages as ancient mistranslations that converted the word "month" to "year", mistaking lunar cycles for solar ones: this would turn an age of 969 "years" into a more reasonable 969 lunar months, or 78½ years of the Metonic cycle.

Donald Etz says that the Genesis 5 numbers were multiplied by ten by a later editor.

Others say that the first list, of only 10 names for 1,656 years, may contain generational gaps, which would have been represented by the lengthy lifetimes attributed to the patriarchs.

The Earth is millions of years old. Dinosaurs existed then...they were destroyed in the overthrow. Research the gap theory. There is a gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. This "age" is approximately 14,000 years old.

I think that this would the giants as well. Either the dinosaur diet itself boosted human growth to where they were able to grow much taller than modern humans or maybe there was a shared characteristic in both humans and dinosaur diets that accelerated this growth. This would explain why for instance the brachiosaurus was so tall as well as the giants found in the Bible.

I was just about to bring up the subject of giants.

It is postulated that there were a number of fallen angels that copulated with women on earth and created a race of giants.

A day to God or in heaven is a very, very, very long time to us. So when the bible says that God created the Heavens and Earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th it probably doesn't literally mean one week. Maybe the 6 "days" of creation are actually billions of our years going back to what we call the Big Bang and when God creates animals on the 5th and 6th day that is evolution and "Creation" ends when the first modern and intelligent humans arrive on the scene. If that's the case I suppose we're still on the 7th day and God is still resting. Who knows?

Well said, I've often thought this too

the entire books of Moses

King Solomon

absolutely zero archaeological evidence for any of the kingdoms of the above, no mention of Moses and/or Jewish slaves Exodus in either Egyptian or Jeweish history, genesis is just stupid fiction, as is a Great Flood, we know the complete etiology of language right down to it following the genetic lineage of mankind.

I can go on if you would like

Just because there isn't now doesn't mean there didn't used to be. Some scientists believe the Earth has lost as much as a quarter of its water over time.

name one and his article with the evidence to back it up

quote:

You realize that it's only very recent in human history that people are aware of the entire globe? To people as far back as Noah the region was all they knew and was their whole world. So no, the inclusion of the word "global" does not make it fiction in context.

yes it does, the Bible is explicit in its reference that all land was covered in water for a year. So which is it, its God's word but he is unaware of foreign soil or its regional and the Bible is wrong due to 'context'
