I think the most important part of the equation is matching your diet to your lifestyle. I eat a very high protein, extremely high beige carb but low-fat diet. I don't avoid fat for any other reason than it makes poor fuel for my body. I don't avoid it when we eat out and once every few weeks my body will tell me I need a dose of fat. My diet, especially the carbs, would be a bad choice for most people never mind the caloric intake but it fits my needs.

Was he fat?

Genuinely curious.

Nope but he drank moonshine on the weekends and smoked a lot.

They both serve a purpose but the calcium test is a cheap, quick, and easy way to determine your risk level.

Butcher shops for tallow and lard. We make our own. We get a lot ourselves just filtering ground beef fat.

If ya buy the high fat content ground beef it's cheaper.. and the fat makes real nice white tallow. What they have made out to be the bad stuff is actually th good stuff if you don't toss out the fat.

Before crisco and all the vegetable oil garbage no one threw out animal fats.

No worse han the bizarre food guy. Munching down monkey casserole and bat soup, while there is Waffle House or Texas Roadhouse a 100 yards away.

I got one, not only was it alarming itself, but the imaging revealed an aortic aneurysm and a bicuspid valve that would have likely killed me even sooner. New aorta, valve and 1 bypass.

Yes, everyone should have one. Period.

I will say that walking for 30-60 minutes a day will go a long way for a healthy heart and lowering your weight.

60 years ago one of my jobs when would slaughter pigs was to collect the fat from around the kidneys, the leaf fat. This made the best lard for baking and spreading on fresh bread.
We made a lot of regular lard to fry fish and chicken.

Three kids, but I did the same even when they were younger. I have a twenty year old who is out of the house and a sixteen and thirteen year old. All daughters.

That sounds miserable. Do you spend any alone time with your wife? And none of that family time includes when you are eating/showering/doing shite around the house. And probably not getting enough sleep.

Of course eating only meat, fruit and eggs will get you jacked and in the best shape of your life. Not really groundbreaking stuff here

That is 4 days a week. I'm off the other 3.

Me working out has no relevance to missing family time. They are all sleeping

If I had a normal 8-5 job I'd get up at 5 and workout from 5:30-7 and be home after work. Be in bed for 9:30
