How many of you remember a serial killer/rapist that terrorized south Louisiana in the late 90’s thru mid 2000’s known as the Bayou Strangler, revealed in 2006 to be Ronald Dominique, a resident of Houma and employed as a pizza delivery driver. Below is a photo of Dominique.
He confessed to murdering and raping 23 men over a 9-year stretch in 6 southeastern Louisiana parishes.
According to murderpedia.com
According to an Ocala Star Banner article dated Dec. 6th, 2006
I also read that outside of Louisiana, this case did not attract much attention despite the number of murders and span of time, one of the reasons being coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
Dominique pleaded guilty to 8 murders and was sentenced to eight life sentences in prison on September 23rd, 2008.
I was not familiar with this case until I saw a book in my local bookstore titled “Bayou Strangler” by Fred Rosen. I have not read the book in its entirety, but looking through it inspired me to look up info on this case online. Online links with more info are below:

Dominique picked up men off the side of the road or other places, propositioning them himself or luring them into his car with the promise of drugs or sex with a fictitious woman, Houma Today reported. Dominique raped the men if they allowed themselves to be tied up, then suffocated or strangled them before dumping their bodies, which were found in cane fields and near remote bayous.
According to an Ocala Star Banner article dated Dec. 6th, 2006
quote:
FBI Special Agent in Charge Jim Bernazzani said FBI profilers felt this was the most significant current serial killer case in the country in terms of the number of victims and its time span - the killings took place from 1997 to 2005.

Ski mask rapist
I worked with a guy that this guy raped his wife and daughter while having him tied up in the room.....never was the same mentally/emotionally. Eventually quit his job and turned into a alcoholic wreck. Sad, sad, sad.

Yes I remember reading about it - my husband is from the area and I’m pretty sure one of his victims was found in the storage facility behind the pizza express right there on 24 by the airport - which we used to go to around the time of the killings (and did for years after)
Obviously he would’ve never bothered us - just creepy to think about

As he got older he seemed to live in two worlds. There was the Dominique who was helpful to his neighbors in the small trailer parks where he lived. Then there was the Dominique who cross-dressed and did bad impersonations of Patti LaBelle at the local gay club. Neither world embrace him and among the gay community, many remember him as someone who was not particularly well liked.
His murderpedia is gold
