Yeah this new children's disease New York is now claiming is rapidly spreading will be the next dagger. If they didn't scare you away as an adult, they surely will when they threaten your kids with it now.

The first article I read about that several days ago ended with, "In most cases children fully recover with no lasting damage." I paraphrased that, but it is very close.
That sentence was at the end of an article that in its entirety, until the last paragraph, highlighted how devastating and dangerous this disease is.

The first night I heard NBC talking about it they had 5 minutes of pictures and horror. Then at the very end they said "It's extremely rare and there have been zero deaths."
But never mind they already scared the shite out of you for your kids.

So I looked at the CDC website and it shows roughly 82,000 confirmed or presumed COVID-19 deaths through May 14th. Also shows through another index the total number of deaths overall through May 14th is roughly 1,055,000 for all causes of death. So at 82,000 deaths that would mean corona causes roughly 8% of ALL deaths at this point. No way. This is being was overstated. I wonder how many presumed cases are in that 82,000.

Don’t know in what way? Just because there isn’t a cure doesn’t mean we don’t know anything about it, the common cold (which about 20 percent of are caused by one of two forms of the coronavirus) has no cure. There are plenty of things that have no cure that we know plenty about including this, we know the average age of death, the symptoms, who is at risk, estimated mortality rate, etc.

There is no cure for the common cold however you can go to Doc and get a shot and a Z-pack that will make the symptoms go away. We don’t have anything like that for this that I am aware of.

In my case it’s been like two days and I start feeling normal. But in some it may take longer.

I am 100% on board with the message of opening up and that this is being sold in a panicky way to a population that is not truly in any danger. But the average age of death is not 81. Its old, but not that old.
In Georgia the average age is 73. Nationally the number is very similar.

This is a bullshite copout statement that may have applied months ago, but not now.
Doctors and ICU staff know plenty about treating pneumonia. They know plenty about treating blood clots. They know plenty about treating fevers.
While the disease Covid-19 which is caused by a "novel" coronavirus is new, the symptoms of the disease are not. As with any disease that has no cure, doctors are treating the symptoms. In some cases, new symptoms arise. They then treat the new symptoms.
Let's get out of the fallacy that doctors all over the world are flying blind on this.

What is the average timeframe for a person to "start feeling normal" for an untreated common cold? As much as 3-4 days?
