If they're pulling stunts like this, they're probably in their death throes and are planning to be closed before the year is up.
I'm talking shite but honestly I'm not even sure if Lafayette has an Applebees.

Who in the frick could eat $30 worth of Applebees, less alcohol no less, a week for a year?
Sounds pretty easy to me. I sometimes eat cereal for dinner 3 nights in a row.

I wish I had an idea of the number of people will buy one then get an estimate of how many gift certificates, pass type deals, etc that are bought and not used so I can get an idea of how profitable this could be.

USAtoday Money
This is from 2022. It says nearly half... 47%.. of Americans have a total of $21B unspent gift cards. I found one to Mike Andersons I got about 3 years ago. I have a few walk ons I will either accidently throw away or give to someone. If I looked harder I am sure I have more.
But lets say 47% of the people who buy these Applebees deal date passes never use them. If 900,000 people buy them (would it be more than that?). Then 423,000 goes unused at $200 that's $84,600,000 in which 423k people said "here is $200, this sounds like a great idea right now, but the fact is I will probably never use it"

Seems like a really good deal
Hell worst case scenario you only go a couple times… what have you lost?… $200

Gift cards are big part of my business….
~50% of gift cards are not used.
That said, I don’t think that’s what Applebees is after here…I think they want to get some people making Applebees a regular choice on their dinners

After 3 or 4 visits I would be sick of their food, so not worth it to me. Pretty sure I haven't spent $200 in my lifetime at Applebee's.

It was one of the only few places, and walkable from a crappy hotel, in Gillette WY in 2004 when I spent 6 weeks there. Haven't eaten there since, but probably ate there 10 times in 6 weeks. Not the worst, but pretty limited good options. Also the first place I saw anyone mix tomato juice and beer. Still don't get it.

Were you trying to refresh or did the page refresh on it's own when the button appeared?

The wife and I go to Applebees every year in September, as that was where we did our first date in college.
Going every week? Hard pass. Even if it was free.
